Accommodation/Reservation
Information:

(Hey! That Rhymes.)
The first choice is the Austin Motel, a funky, well-loved motel a mile form downtown with a great view of the skyline. It wins "Best/Most Romantic Motel" in the Austin Chronicle Readers' Poll each year. We plan to headquarter in the suite over the pool. Because there may not be enough room to house all the poets at this motel (and because some may be weary of "funky"), we've also pointed to the La Quinta Inn Capital as a second option. Here is the Reservation Info for both:
Austin Motel,
1220 S. Congress, (512) 444-4966: Tell them you're with the
1998 National Poetry Slam. Rooms range from $46 for small (and they mean
that) singles serving one to two people to the other executive suite for
$99. They do have some rollaways, too, I believe. Tell them how many people
you need to sleep - that'll help them figure it out. We've got the whole
hotel blocked, and you've got till August 1 to act.
La Quinta Inn Capitol,
300 E. 11th, (800) 687-6667: We've got 25 rooms
blocked here. Tell them you're with the National Poetry Slam and give them
reservation number 0907-06303-B. Rates are $75.
Please Note: As of 6-25-98, we are told that both of these places are booked!
