Please help
Our much beloved SlamMaster, Mike Henry, is also part owner and proprietor of SlamChannel.com. During the summer of last year (2004), SlamChannel began to make a movie about this crazy thing we love, slam poetry. The movie, Slam Planet, takes you on the inside of what it's like to compete against others battling with nothing but your words. They followed Team Austin and Team Urbana from New York City as they came together to rumble in St. Louis against the best in the country. However, they've hit a snag. The Gudalupe Arts Center, where they had their offices (and where the Austin Poetry Slam is headquartered), had a fire at the end of January 2005. And I bet you couldn't guess whose thousands of hours of video tape and editing suffered like you wouldn't believe.
Fire and smoke does amazing things to computer equipment. But all is not lost. Thanks to the wonders of electronic data recovery, they can revive footage that might be otherwise be gone. And, like most things technology, it ain't cheap. Please help our partners at SlamChannel. They have helped us in ways we can't begin to tell you about. Your donation of a few dollars will help. Because there are a lot of you (I know, I see the traffic logs).
Go to PayPal and kick them down a buck or two.
