  <title>Quarter Finals &amp; Slam-off Graphics</title>
  <link>http://www.austinslam.com/newsite/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=96</link>
<description>Last Wednesday marked the last regular slam of the 2007/2008 Austin Slam Season! Congrats to Christopher Lee for pulling off the win and to Rob C. and Ruff Draft for coming in 2nd and 3rd!

This means that this week&#039;s slam (March 26th) will be our fourth and last Quarter-Final bout between the top poets from January to March, and next week&#039;s slam (April 2nd) will be the Super-Semi-Final between the top scoring poets from throughout the entire slam year.

The competition is fierce, and these two slams promise to be some of the most exciting shows we&#039;ve ever put on, and as if that weren&#039;t enough...

We&#039;ve got the Austin SLAMOFF 2008 coming up on April 8th at The Long Center for Performing Arts!!!!!

We&#039;ll be on the big stage in the Michael and Susan Dell Hall. Ticket info soon, but in the meantime, we&#039;ve got some graphics to whet your appetite:

  <title>March 5 - Slam Starts On Time!!!</title>
  <link>http://www.austinslam.com/newsite/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=94</link>
<description>That&#039;s right, friends. Starting on Wednesday, March 5, the AUSTIN POETRY SLAM will start on time. What does that mean, exactly?

1. The sign-up list will open at 7:30 p.m. and will close at 7:59 p.m.
2. The poetry slam will begin promptly at 8:01 p.m.

If you&#039;re a poet and you show up after 7:59, you won&#039;t be able to slam. If you&#039;re an audience member who wants to see the ENTIRE show, you should arrive by 8:00 p.m.

Why are we doing this? Because we want to give you timely show and finish up no later than 10:30 (probably earlier). So come on out a bit earlier (miss that last 20 minutes of American Idol) and see the hottest spoken-word show in town.

And be on the lookout for details about SLAM-OFF 2008, taking place at the newly constructed LONG CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS on April 8, 2008. (That&#039;s a Tuesday night.) Tickets on sale soon.</description>
